Referral Process

In order to streamline services and provide quicker access to care the Surrey Comprehensive Orthopaedics group has launched a new centralized referral process. Referrals sent to our group are discussed at a weekly staff meeting, and directed to the first available doctor who specializes in the area.

Patients will be contacted by the doctor’s office to set up an appointment.

This is one of the initiatives designed to help modernize and reduce wait times. Wait times are dependent on the severity of the issue and the availability of a doctor who specializes in the area.

There are three surgeons who no longer perform surgeries but provide assessments and non-surgical treatments. If an assessment shows a need for a surgery, patients will be given an expedited referral to a practicing surgeon in the group.
